Mr. Palmer, a disabled man living on a fixed income, has rented a space in the same RV park for over four years without issue. But everything changed when new management took over the property. Without warning, Mr. Palmer received an eviction notice—his first ever—accusing him of violating park rules. The experience left him overwhelmed and afraid. Facing the possibility of losing his home, he had no way to move his RV on short notice and was scheduled for a medical procedure that made relocation impossible.
Mr. Palmer applied for help through our Conroe office, and his case was handled by LSLA managing attorney Deborah Concepcion. She represented him in court and successfully challenged the eviction on several grounds: the park’s filing was legally deficient, the contract for the lot was incomplete, and no credible evidence or witnesses were presented to support the landlord’s claims. The park also argued that Mr. Palmer wasn’t a true tenant and could be asked to leave at any time—an argument the court rejected. Ultimately, the judge dismissed the case.
Mr. Palmer was overcome with relief. With tears in his eyes, he said it felt like winning the lottery. After two sleepless nights, he could finally rest knowing he wouldn’t be forced out of the place he’s called home for years.
Thanks to the Conroe office and attorney Deborah Concepcion, Mr. Palmer’s housing—and peace of mind—were protected.
