The Grateful Plate is a free community meal prepared from food donated by our neighbors, for our neighbors that is sponsored by Stone Soup Nacogdoches – a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to alleviate hunger and food insecurity by preparing and distributing meals, primarily using donated ingredients, to individuals and families in need, including those experiencing homelessness.

Join State Representative Senfronia Thompson for a Property Tax Town Hall focused on protesting property taxes and understanding available resources for homeowners.

Representatives from the Harris County Appraisal District, the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office, and the Harris County Attorney’s Office will share important information about the property tax protest process and answer questions from the community.

Lone Star Legal Aid will also be present to discuss the free legal services available to eligible residents, including assistance with property tax protests and other property-related issues. Attendees will learn how to qualify for services, how to apply for assistance, and what to expect when seeking help through Lone Star Legal Aid.

This town hall is a great opportunity for constituents to learn about the property tax process, ask questions, and connect with organizations that can provide hands-on assistance.

The Harris County Attorney’s Office is hosting an estate planning outreach to provide information on planning tools that help families protect their homes and pass property to the next generation. Attendees can learn about wills, transfer on death deeds, and common title issues that affect inherited property. Community partners, including Lone Star Legal Aid, will be on-site to share resources and information with participants.

Interfaith of The Woodlands and CarePartners® have partnered to host the semiannual Caregivers Conference, an educational event designed to support and empower caregivers in our community. This conference offers caregivers access to valuable resources and information that are often difficult for family caregivers to obtain. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in professionally led workshops focused on building skills and addressing the diverse challenges, interests, and needs of caregiving. Lone Star Legal Aid (LSLA) will be present to share informational materials and connect community members with available resources.
