Woman in her late 70s is seeking financial peace of mind with a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Client does own a home with a mortgage, for which she is current and will want to reaffirm. Otherwise, the majority of her debt is due to unsecured credit cards and medical debt. At the time client was incurring the debt, she was unable to live on her income and was covering her costs through her credit cards. She has previously worked with consolidation agencies, which gave her approximately $200 monthly to cover her costs. Client is on a fixed social security retirement income only. While she is judgment proof, she is seeking a bankruptcy to stop future collection actions in her retirement year. However, client is unlikely eligible for a filing fee waiver.
