We help people living in the 76 counties we serve who are low-income. We only work on civil cases and do not handle criminal cases.
All clients must meet financial and legal status eligibility requirements. Our general income limits change annually, and can be found by accessing the US Federal Poverty Guidelines. Even if you earn more than 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, we may still help you if you qualify under one of our special projects.
Lone Star Legal Aid does not discriminate in the delivery of services or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, or sex. As a recipient of federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding, LSLA is committed to ensuring equal access to our programs and services for all individuals. Please visit the Governor’s Public Safety Office or the Federal Office for Civil Rights to file a concern.
