2022 Updated Income Limits for CHIP and Children’s Medicaid

We have a dedicated team of lawyers and paralegals who can help applicants who qualify for our services apply for Children’s Medicaid or CHIP benefits. We can enroll on your behalf, monitor the progress of your application, and notify you when a decision has been made. We can also help recertify your application when it is time for your renewal. Our services are free, and you are never charged for any assistance we provide.

Did You Know? There are 623,000 children without health insurance in Texas. Those who lack insurance coverage typically experience far worse health issues than those insured.

Available Programs: Uninsured children in Texas may receive low-cost health care from the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or no-cost health care from the Children’s Medicaid Program.

Cost: $50 or less covers all your children for one year. Medicaid has no cost, while the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is $50 or less for one year of coverage.

Benefits include: Choice of doctors, check up and office visits, vaccines, prescription drugs, dental care, eye exams and glasses, x-rays, lab tests, special health needs, and much more.

Who Can Get It? Find your family size on the chart below. Follow that row to the right. If your income is less than the monthly income shown in the Medicaid section, your children might get Medicaid. If your income is higher, your children might get CHIP through the monthly income guidelines in that column. Children of families with higher incomes may also qualify in some cases.

Family Size Children’s Medicaid CHIP
1 $1,510 $2,277
2 $2,034 $3,067
3 $2,559 $3,858
4 $3,083 $4,649
5 $3,607 $5,439
6 $4,132 $6,230
7 $4,656 $7,020
