Lone Star Legal Aid Shifts Focus: Leaving Twitter to Explore New Community Engagement Strategies

Houston, TX – Lone Star Legal Aid, the third largest provider of free legal aid in Texas, has decided to discontinue its presence on Twitter and shift its focus towards exploring alternative methods of reaching and engaging with the community it serves.
After careful consideration and evaluation of our communication strategies, we recognize the need to reallocate resources and explore more effective avenues to connect and engage with our audience. While Twitter has been a valuable platform in the past, we believe that by diversifying our communication channels, we can better meet the needs and preferences of our client community members.
Moving forward, we aim to leverage other social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. We are also thrilled to announce that we have officially joined Nextdoor, your neighborhood’s trusted community hub! With its hyper-local focus, Nextdoor will allow us to connect with neighbors, share important updates and events, and build meaningful relationships, fostering a sense of community and increasing the impact of our work.
We will place a high priority on improving our website, sustaining our recently established community email newsletter, and actively seeking out community events and partnerships. These efforts aim to foster a more comprehensive and inclusive approach to engagement.

The @LStarLegal and @LSLAMVU accounts will be deactivated on June 12, 2023.
